mock-ie

Privacy Policy

Effective June 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how mock-ie, operated by Tu Ngo(a sole proprietor based in Texas, USA), collects, uses, and protects your information. For privacy purposes we are the “data controller.” Contact us any time at support@mock-ie.com.

1. Information we collect

  • Account data — your email address, name, and optional avatar, when you sign up (via Supabase, or Google sign-in if you use it).
  • Payment data — when you subscribe, payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. We store your Stripe customer ID, plan, and subscription status.
  • Interview content — the spoken or typed answers you give during a practice interview, which are processed to generate questions and your feedback report (see “Voice & microphone” below).
  • Usage & device data — basic, privacy-friendly analytics (page views, performance) via Vercel, and standard server logs.
  • Support data — anything you send us by email.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the Service and generate your interview feedback;
  • To process subscriptions, payments, and renewals;
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure;
  • To respond to support requests;
  • To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or technical issues;
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Voice & microphone

Voice interviews use your device microphone. Speech-to-text is performed by your browser’s built-in speech recognition — in some browsers (e.g. Chrome) audio is sent to the browser vendor (Google) for transcription; this is controlled by your browser, not by us. The resulting text is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate questions and feedback, and the AI’s text replies may be sent to ElevenLabs to produce spoken audio. We do not record, store, or retain your interview audio or transcripts on our own servers — they are processed transiently to give you a live session and report.

4. Service providers (processors) we share data with

We share the minimum data needed with trusted providers who process it on our behalf:

  • Supabase — account storage & authentication
  • Stripe — payment processing & subscription management
  • Anthropic — AI generation of interview questions & feedback
  • ElevenLabs — AI text-to-speech voices
  • Google — in-browser speech recognition; Workspace for our support email
  • Vercel — hosting and privacy-friendly analytics

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Cookies & similar technologies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in (authentication) and to remember preferences such as your light/dark theme. Our analytics are privacy-friendly and do not use advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may break sign-in.

6. Data retention

We keep account and subscription data for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see your rights below). Interview audio/transcripts are not retained as described above.

7. Your privacy rights

If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (to provide the Service), your consent (e.g. microphone use), our legitimate interests (security, improvement), and legal obligations. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it’s used, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” — though we do not sell or share your personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

To exercise any right, email support@mock-ie.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

8. International data transfers

We operate from the United States, and our providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) offered by our providers.

9. Security

We protect your data with measures such as encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, row-level security on our database, and storing secrets server-side only. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
