Terms of Service

Effective June 17, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of mock-ie (the “Service”), operated by Tu Ngo, a sole proprietor based in Texas, United States (“mock-ie,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase a paid subscription. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@mock-ie.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

3. The Service

mock-ie provides AI-powered mock interview practice. Core features include:

  • Mock Interviews — an AI interviewer asks up to 6 questions, listens to your spoken or typed answers, and generates a scored feedback report across multiple performance categories.
  • Interview History & Progress Tracking — completed interviews are saved to your account so you can review scores, category breakdowns, strengths, and improvement areas over time.
  • Question Drill Mode — practice individual questions by field and category (behavioral, technical, situational, leadership) and receive instant AI scoring, feedback, and a model answer.
  • Resume-Tailored Questions — optionally upload your resume so the AI tailors interview questions to your background.
  • Email Reports — request an emailed copy of your interview report sent to your registered address.
  • AI Voices — authenticated users may use ElevenLabs-powered AI voices for a more realistic interview experience (subject to rate limits and plan).
  • Free Demo — a limited, unauthenticated demo is available at /demo with reduced question count and no report saving.

Features vary by plan. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

4. AI-generated content — important disclaimer

Interview questions, feedback, scores, model answers, and all other AI-generated content (including category scores, hiring verdicts, strengths, improvement suggestions, and next steps) are produced by automated AI systems (Anthropic Claude). They are provided for practice and educational purposes only. They are not professional, career, legal, financial, medical, or hiring advice, and we do not guarantee any particular interview outcome, job offer, score accuracy, or result. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent — use your own judgment and consult qualified professionals for career decisions.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose;
  • Attempt to access, probe, or disrupt the Service, its infrastructure, or other users’ data (e.g. via automated scanners, injection attacks, or credential stuffing);
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or build a competing product from the Service;
  • Abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent rate limits, usage controls, or subscription enforcement;
  • Upload files containing malware or content designed to exploit the Service;
  • Attempt to manipulate AI scoring or feedback through adversarial prompt injection;
  • Share your account credentials or allow third parties to access your account;
  • Submit content that infringes others’ rights or that is unlawful.

6. Subscriptions, billing & auto-renewal

Paid plans (e.g. Pro, Team) are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis through our payment processor, Stripe. Your subscription automatically renews each billing period until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method the then-current fee for each renewal. Prices may change with notice; changes apply to future billing periods.

7. Cancellation & refunds

You can cancel any time — self-service — from the Billing page using “Manage subscription,” which opens our secure Stripe customer portal. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of your current paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide partial or prorated refunds for unused time.

8. Free demo & free plan

We offer a free demo and a free tier with limited features. These are provided “as is,” may be rate-limited, and may change or end at any time.

9. Your data & interview history

Completed interviews (including your answers, scores, and AI-generated reports) are stored in your account so you can review your progress history. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at support@mock-ie.com. Resume text you upload is processed in-session to tailor questions and is not permanently stored on our servers. We may retain anonymized, aggregated usage data for service improvement.

10. Email communications

If you request an emailed interview report via the Service, we will send that report to your registered email address using Resend (our email delivery provider). By requesting a report email, you consent to receiving that one-time transactional message. Report emails are subject to a rate limit (5 per hour) to prevent abuse. We do not send marketing email without your separate consent.

11. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by law. You may not copy or reuse it except as allowed by these Terms. You retain ownership of the answers and content you submit; you grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the Service to you.

12. Third-party services

We rely on third parties to operate, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (accounts/database), Anthropic Claude (AI interview questions and feedback), ElevenLabs (AI voice synthesis), Resend (transactional email), Google Web Speech API (browser-side voice recognition), and Vercel (hosting/analytics). Your use may be subject to their terms. See our Privacy Policy for details.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, mock-ie will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

16. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers, liability, governing law) will survive.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Texas for any dispute, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
